The Abandoned Iron Smelting Town of Fayette
Fayette is a well-preserved town that was founded in 1867 as an industrial community for charcoal iron production. I observed the history of Fayette and visited the museum to learn more about the town's past. Surrounded by cliffs, forests, and the Big Bay de Noc, the town offers a unique experience to visitors. I compared Fayette with other historic places I have visited in Michigan and found it to be a hidden gem.
