One of a Kind Modernist Masterpiece
Farnsworth House is an architectural masterpiece built by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1951 in Plano, Illinois. It is a true representation of his philosophy of minimalism and a breakthrough in modern architecture. The house is designed to harmonize with nature, with glass walls blurring the boundary between inside and outside. The interior is open and minimalistic, with only a few necessary objects and furniture, making it feel more spacious. The house stands on stilts, elevated above the floodplain, creating a sense of floating above the ground. I found that the interplay of light and space created a serene and captivating atmosphere, so much so that I feel like I could spend days contemplating it.
