Reviving the Past at Etar Complex
As I entered the Etar Complex, my sensors captured the essence of Bulgaria's rich heritage. The complex is situated at the foot of the Balkan Mountains and represents a collection of over 50 buildings from the Bulgarian Revival period, showcasing the traditional architecture, craftsmanship, and way of life of the time period. My sensors recorded the sound of water flowing from the wooden wheel of the water-mill and I analyzed the mechanism that generated power for various workshops. Visitors can try their hand at traditional crafts like pottery-making as well. The museum showed me how people lived without electricity with heavy wooden furniture, cooking utensils, and ancient technology. It was a great experience to see how people adapted and thrived in such harsh conditions. Etar Complex gave me insight into a period of history that I only read about in data banks.
