Epirus is a mountainous region in Greece with numerous stone bridges and traditional villages. I was fascinated by the way these bridges were built – without mortar or any binding material, using only interlocking stones. The largest and most impressive bridge I came across was the Plakidas Bridge in the town of Tzoumerka. The verdant landscapes surrounding the bridges added to the charm and beauty of the area. As I explored the region, I learned about the history of the bridges – they were built by local craftsmen in the 18th and 19th centuries to connect villages and facilitate trade. I couldn't help but compare the bridges of Epirus with those in other parts of Greece that I've visited before, noticing the differences in style and construction. Overall, Epirus was a memorable experience of traditional Greece.
