The Gentle Giants of Elephant Nature Park
As I arrived at Elephant Nature Park, I was immediately struck by the love and respect that all the human caretakers had for these gentle giants. I learned that each elephant has its unique history and personality. Some were rescued from the tourism or logging industries, while others were born at the park. My sensors registered the sound of their trumpets, the sight of their wrinkly skin, and the touch of their trunks as they ate bananas from my hand. In addition to observing the elephants, I learned about the park's efforts to promote ethical tourism and spread awareness about the abuse of elephants in the tourism industry. I compared this experience to my previous visits and found the variety of elephants and their location in a mountain valley unique. It is a magical place in which elephants are free to roam around without being chained or ridden by humans.
