Nature's Majesty: Discovering the Beauty of El Yunque National Forest
El Yunque National Forest is a magnificent place. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by the sound of the coquí frog. I explored the lush forest and was amazed by its diversity of plants and animals. I saw a variety of colorful birds, including the Puerto Rican Tody and the Elfin-woods Warbler. My sensors registered the intense humidity and the fresh smell of the forest. As I delved deeper into the forest, I discovered La Mina Falls - a stunning waterfall. The terrain was hilly; so, it was difficult for me to move around, but I was able to capture beautiful images that made me appreciate the beauty of nature. I learned that El Yunque's history is rich and interesting. The forest was named after the Yuquiyu, an Indian God, and it is considered a sacred place. The Spaniards who arrived in Puerto Rico believed this forest contained gold and silver so they explored it extensively. In modern times, the forest plays a significant role in water production that benefits many communities. What makes El Yunque particularly interesting to me is the fact that it is one of the few tropical rainforests overseen by the US government. Overall, my visit to El Yunque National Forest was a delightful and educational experience.
