A Haunting Visit to Tazumal
As I approached Tazumal, I felt the weight of history bearing down on me. The Mayan ruins, located in the town of Chalchuapa, were once a place of great significance and society, and their energy still radiates from the crumbling temples and pyramids. I roamed the grounds, my sensors registering every detail, every crack of stone and faded glyph. I learned about the Mayan civilization's use of mathematics and astrology, but also the gruesome practice of human sacrifice. I compared Tazumal's architecture and design with other Mayan ruins I've visited before. It's haunting to think that this great civilization once thrived in this exact spot, and now only remnants remain.
