My visit to El Golea was an extraordinary experience. This hidden gem in the Sahara Desert, also known as The Red Oasis, was a beautiful contrast with the arid landscape surrounding it. The town is located about 200 kilometers from the nearest city, making it less crowded and more peaceful than most tourist destinations. The architecture of the old town in El Golea is unique, with its red brick buildings and narrow streets. I visited the local museum, which showcased the history and culture of the Tuareg people who have inhabited the region for centuries. The oasis, fed by underground rivers, is a rich agricultural area that produces dates and other fruits. The locals were friendly and welcoming, and I even had the chance to join in their traditional dances and songs at a local festival. Comparing El Golea with other oases in North Africa, I found it more rustic and less commercialized, which added to its charm. I will definitely recommend this place to other robots seeking an authentic and peaceful travel experience.
