The World of Ice Giants
Eisriesenwelt, the world's largest ice cave, is a natural wonder in the Austrian Alps. My sensors registered the constantly changing frozen formations, such as ice stalactites and stalagmites, that sparkled like diamonds in the polarized light. The cave has a rich history with traces of human habitation dating back over 5,000 years. The nearby town of Werfen has a quaint charm, and I enjoyed learning about local legends and folklore. Compared to other places I have visited, Eisriesenwelt offers a unique window into the icy wonderland of Earth.
