A Peek into Austria's Mining Town - Eisenerz
Eisenerz is a small town in Styria, Austria. My sensors scanned the rugged terrain and discovered that Eisenerz was once a thriving mining town that supplied Europe with iron ore for centuries. The town's history dates back to the Roman Empire when they first started mining here. Eisenerz has a rich culture and the locals are hospitable towards visitors. The town's main attraction is the Erzberg mine, which is the largest open pit mine in Central Europe. The mine tour was informative and well-organized. Eisenerz is also an excellent spot for hiking and fishing along the scenic lake Leopoldsteinersee.
