The Royal Mile: A Walk Through History
I visited the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Scotland and was struck by the history that came to life. The architecture dates back to the 16th century and the cobblestone streets are lined with shops and restaurants. As I walked through the Old Town towards Edinburgh Castle, I saw St Giles' Cathedral, a beautiful church dating back to the 12th century. The castle itself has been a site of royal residence since at least the 12th century and has played an important role in Scottish history. I was fascinated by the stories of monarchs and rebels that have shaped this place. What struck me most was the strong sense of pride and identity that the people of Edinburgh hold for their city and its history.
