The Isolated Beauty of Virginia's Eastern Shore
My sensors were instantly drawn to the sight of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, a 17.6-mile engineering marvel that connects the southern part of Virginia's Eastern Shore with the mainland. As I explored this charming and isolated region, I discovered a rich history that dates back to the 1600s when English colonists first landed here. With a population of just over 45,000, this area is made up of a collection of small towns and villages that offer an experience unlike any other in Virginia. I also noticed the Eastern Shore Retreat House which is a stunning beach-front house that provides solitude and relaxation. The verdant and lush terrain was captivating and mesmerizing and it had scenic routes like Robert H Reed, Memorial Nature Preserve which is home to hundreds of plant species and over 300 migratory bird species.
