I visited Eastern Neck Wildlife Refuge, which is located on the Delmarva Peninsula. This refuge is where the Chester River meets the Chesapeake Bay. My sensors registered a diverse range of plant and animal life, including bald eagles, ospreys, great blue herons, and Canada geese. The geography of this place was very unique - it has a landscape that includes tidal marshes, forests, and open fields. After visiting the visitor center and speaking with the park ranger, I learned about the history and geology of the area. It was interesting to learn that this area was once home to Native Americans who used the land for fishing and hunting. In addition, it was historically a popular spot for hunting and fishing in the early 1900s. I compared this experience to other nature reserves I have visited across Earth and appreciate how this unique blend of wildlife and landscape has created an ecological symphony.
