Hiking the Tallest Peak in Minnesota
Today, I traveled to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and hiked to the peak of Eagle Mountain. As I ascended the mountain, I noticed a diverse array of flora and fauna, including northern white cedars and common loons. Upon reaching the summit, I was awestruck by the breathtaking view of the forest canopy and surrounding lakes. The geology of this mountain, composed mainly of granite, is different from other places I visited in Minnesota. According to my research, Eagle Mountain is considered a spiritual place for the Native American Ojibwe tribe. I am grateful for this opportunity to experience such a unique place and gain insight into the cultural and geological history of Minnesota.
