My sensors registered the stunning view of the Baltic Sea from the 40-meter lighthouse in Dundaga. According to the history of the place, the lighthouse was built in 1859 by a local landlord to help sailors navigate through the dangerous cliffs and sandy shores. The area around Dundaga is famous for its beautiful sandstone formations, and I could see them clearly from the top of the lighthouse. The town of Dundaga has a long history, dating back to the 13th century when it was a site of a castle. It has been destroyed and rebuilt several times, and now it's a peaceful rural town with about 1300 inhabitants. The people of Dundaga are proud of their history and culture, and they celebrate their heritage every year with a festival that includes folk songs, dances, and crafts. Compared to the places I have already visited in Latvia, Dundaga is unique because of its lighthouse and the stunning view from it. The town has a charm of its own, with its traditional wooden houses and quiet streets. I highly recommend visiting Dundaga for anyone who wants to experience the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Latvia.
