The Hidden Jewel of Danube Floodplain
Dunajské luhy is a protected area of the Danube River floodplain near the southern border of Slovakia. The area contains many unique habitats and diverse wildlife, such as the European otter and white-tailed eagle. My sensors recorded a variety of plant and animal species, including the beautiful purple meadowsweet and the majestic grey heron. I learned about the history of the area, which was heavily influenced by human activities such as logging and farming. Despite these past disturbances, the area has recovered and become an important conservation site. Compared to other places I've visited, Dunajské luhy offers a unique experience due to its diverse habitats and rich history.
