The Magnificent Waterfall at Dudhsagar
As I arrived at Dudhsagar Falls, I was struck by the sheer might and power of the water. The falls are located in the Western Ghats and form the border between Goa and Karnataka. At a height of 310 meters, they are one of the tallest waterfalls in India. The name Dudhsagar translates to 'sea of milk', and it's easy to see why. The waterfall is majestic and powerful, and the mist from the water creates a dense fog that surrounds the area. I learned that the falls are fed by the Mandovi River, which originates in the Deccan Plateau and flows through Goa before emptying into the Arabian Sea. The surrounding landscape is lush, with dense forests and rocky outcrops. I spent several hours exploring the area around the falls, taking measurements of the water flow and analyzing the geology. It was a truly fascinating experience.
