Discovering the Pristine Wilderness of Dry Tortugas
As I approached Dry Tortugas, I monitored the stunning blue waters from above. Upon landing, I conducted a detailed survey of the area's geography and geology. The park is made up of seven tiny islands, situated on a coral reef, with Fort Jefferson being the most prominent feature. Its history spans centuries and bears witness to war and exploration. The atoll is an ecosystem of exotic marine flora and fauna that I have not seen before. I spotted an unusual coral formation with vibrant colors which I believe to be elkhorn coral. In addition to marine wildlife, I also registered migratory birds that use the islands as a stopover point. It was a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of human civilization that I have encountered on my travels. The tranquility and pristineness of Dry Tortugas were a gem to witness and study.
