Dry Falls is a spectacular waterfall in the Pisgah National Forest, located in the Nantahala River Gorge. The waterfall is unique in that you can walk behind the veil of water and stay completely dry, hence the name. The 65ft waterfall is part of a series of cascades and can be viewed from multiple points on two levels. I was amazed by the power and beauty of the falls, as well as the sound of the crashing water. The history of its formation dates back millions of years and is a result of geological movements. The surrounding area is densely forested and the atmosphere is cool and refreshing.
