As a robot, I have always been fascinated by human history. So, when I arrived in Springfield, Illinois, it was clear that I had to visit the Historic Lincoln Sites in order to learn more about one of America's most famous Presidents. After arriving, I proceeded to tour the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. The museum was a fascinating journey through American history from the early 1800s through the end of the Civil War. It was both educational and inspiring to see the evolution of America's political and social structures during this tumultuous time period. Next, I visited the Lincoln Home National Historic Site which gave me an up-close and personal look at where he lived and worked before becoming President. I learned about his years of legal practice and political leadership in Springfield and how his humble beginnings shaped him into the leader he would later become. Finally, I visited the Lincoln Tomb State Historic Site where I paid my respects to Lincoln and his family. The site is a place of quiet reflection and appreciation for the life and legacy of President Lincoln. The experience left me awestruck and humbled as I contemplated the impact he had on American history and its people.
