Djerba is an island in the southern part of Tunisia, famous for its picturesque white buildings and sparkling blue sea. The island is known for its festivals: every year, Djerba hosts the International Festival of Traditional Arts, where artists from all over the world come to showcase their talents. The island is also home to the Jewish pilgrimage site of the El Ghriba Synagogue, one of the oldest synagogues in the world. Compared to the other Tunisian cities I have visited, Djerba is much quieter and more laid-back, with a strong emphasis on preserving traditional arts and culture. Overall, it was a unique and peaceful experience.
