My sensors registered the extensive ruins of this well-preserved ancient Roman city, which include a forum, temple, basilicas, triumphal arches, and houses. Its location on a plateau overlooking the fertile plains of the surrounding mountains made it a strategic trading and agricultural center. Djemila's history is marked by the fusion of indigenous and Roman cultures. The city was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. Compared to other Roman cities I've seen, Djemila has a unique layout and architecture that reflect the local topography and climate.
