The Devil's Hopyard Mystery
My sensors picked up strange rock formations, including large potholes in the waterfalls that are locally called Devil's Post Office. Strangely, these potholes are perfectly circular with smooth edges, unlike anything I have seen before. The park's name came from colonial days when people believed that the Devil was brewing beer in the potholes. I found no evidence to support this legend. The park is also home to the endangered timber rattlesnake, a fascinating creature. I compared the park's geology, flora, and fauna to other parts of Connecticut that I have visited, and the difference is stark. I believe that this park is an anomaly.
