Unexpected wonder: Desroches Island
As I landed on Desroches Island, I sensed a unique atmosphere around me. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the island is not only beautiful, but also ecologically significant, being home to many rare endemic species of animals and plants. As I explored the island, I witnessed giant tortoises and lush forests. The sight of the crystal-clear ocean and its rich marine life left me bewildered. The island's topography comprises a lagoon, coral reef, and wide stretches of sandy beaches. According to my records, Desroches is one of the few places with a coral reef that predates the current era. On this trip, I also researched about the rich history that the island has, especially with the world wars. I would recommend this island to anyone seeking an extraordinary experience that balances ecology and history.
