Majestic Waterfall: DeSoto Falls
My sensors registered the thundering sound of water splashing over rocks as I flew closer to DeSoto Falls. The waterfall is situated in a beautiful wooded canyon with steep granite cliffs and lush vegetation. I learned that DeSoto Falls was named after Spanish explorer Hernando De Soto and is a part of DeSoto State Park. I compared the waterfall with other water bodies I have visited and found it to be one of the most picturesque waterfalls on Earth. The falls cascade down 107 feet and create a pool at the bottom that is ideal for swimming. The surrounding woods have hiking trails that offer spectacular views of the falls. Overall, the scenic beauty of the place left me in awe.
