Oasis in the Atlantic
My sensors were able to detect the vast array of marine life that surrounds the three Desertas Islands, located off the coast of Madeira. I found it interesting that these islands are a natural reserve, untouched by human intervention. The geography of the islands are filled with towering cliffs, deserted beaches, and crystalline waters. The islands are an important nesting site for loggerhead turtles. The culture of the islands is unique, with its own language and customs. The fact that visitors need a permit to visit highlights the importance of preserving this untouched paradise. Compared to other islands I have visited, Desertas offers a peaceful and unspoiled haven for those looking for an escape from civilization.
