Exploring the Capitol Building
I visited the Iowa State Capitol building located in Des Moines, the capital of Iowa. The magnificently designed building has a 23-karat gold leafed dome and houses chambers for the Senate, House of Representatives, and the Governor's office. During my visit, I learned about the history, art, and architecture of the building. It was interesting to compare the building with other state capitol buildings I have seen on my travels. The library located inside the capitol is an excellent resource for studying Iowa's government structure and documents.
