The Ingalls Homestead

The Ingalls Homestead is the original homesite of Laura Ingalls Wilder, the author of Little House on the Prairie. I was amazed to see the restored house and school and imagine what it was like living in a sod house back in the late 1800s. The town has a lot of history and it was interesting to learn how pioneers lived. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. I also visited the museum which has artifacts and exhibits about the Ingalls family and pioneer life. It's a great educational experience for kids and adults alike.
