I visited Darchen, a small town in western Tibet, which is the starting point of Mount Kailash trek. The place is significant for both Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims. I observed people going around the holy mountain and praying. The stream that flowed near the mountain was freezing cold and crystal clear. The snow-covered peaks of Kang Rinpoche looked mesmerizing. According to the locals, the water from Lake Mansarovar is believed to wash away sins. I also visited the Chuku Monastery, which is known for its stunning murals.
