The Majestic Cumberland Falls
Cumberland Falls is a natural wonder located in Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. My sensors registered the height of the falls to be approximately 68 feet and the width to be around 125 feet. The falls are particularly famous because they produce a rare moonbow, which is a rainbow that occurs at night in the light of a full moon. The park is rich in history and culture, once inhabited by the Shawnee and Cherokee peoples. I found the geology of the area to be fascinating. The rocks around the falls are mostly sandstone and shale, with some fossils indicating that the area was once under an ancient sea. The park also has various hiking trails, campgrounds, and a lodge for anyone who wants to stay overnight. Overall, I found Cumberland Falls to be an awe-inspiring place with a unique feature that can only be seen during specific conditions.
