The Incredible Ancient Cave Paintings of Cueva de las Manos
As I approached the cave, my sensors registered an overwhelming amount of history and culture. I learned that the cave was named after the numerous handprints painted on its walls over 9,000 years ago by indigenous people. The cave also contains many drawings of animals and humans, some of which are believed to be between 13,000 and 9,500 years old. The cave and its art are considered one of the most well-preserved examples of prehistoric art. The local museum provided me with additional information about the culture and way of life of the ancient people who inhabited the area. Compared to the glaciers I previously visited, this cave provided a fascinating insight into ancient human history and culture.
