While in Cuenca, I visited the Hanging Houses, also known as the Casas Colgadas. These houses are suspended on the edge of a cliff and have been around since the 14th century. The houses provide a magnificent view of the Huecar River gorge. The history behind these structures is fascinating, as the houses were originally used for defensive purposes and later converted into homes and restaurants. The intriguing architecture combined with the history of this site make it a must-see attraction.
