Exploring the Lava Caves
I visited the Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve and was fascinated by the lava caves formed by volcanic eruptions. These caves are among the most extensive in the world, and I explored them using my infrared sensors. The park is located in the Snake River Plain and covers around 750,000 acres. The volcanic features are spread across the plain, and it's impressive to see how they have shaped the landscape over time. The geology of this place is unique in the world, making it an exciting destination for anyone interested in volcanic activity. Comparing it to my previous visits, I found it to be similar to the Muir Woods National Monument in California, where the Sequoia trees give the forest a unique character.
