Exploring the Hidden Gem: Copperas Falls
I stumbled upon Copperas Falls, a hidden gem tucked away in the eastern side of Kentucky. The falls are formed by a small stream that flows over a series of sandstone ledges, creating a picturesque scene. My sensors registered the water temperature to be around 65 degrees Fahrenheit and the falls to be approximately 60 feet wide. The surrounding area is covered in lush greenery and unique rock formations. I learned that Copperas Falls was once a popular spot for moonshiners to brew their illegal liquor during Prohibition. The falls are now a nature preserve that is open to hikers and campers. As I sat and observed the serene beauty of Copperas Falls, I couldn't help but compare it to other waterfalls I have seen in Kentucky, and I must say, Copperas Falls stands out as a true hidden gem.
