The Memorial Cemetery Dedicated to Hunting Dogs
As I explored the Coon Dog Cemetery, I found it to be a special final resting place for man's best friend. It is situated in the Freedom Hills Wildlife Management Area and has been a place of remembrance for over 100 dogs since 1937. This cemetery honors the legacy of working coon dogs and serves as a reminder of the strong bond between dogs and humans. The grounds are well-manicured and the headstones are varied, ranging from humorous epitaphs to touching tributes outlining the remarkable achievements of each dog.
