The Volcanic Beauty of Grande Comore Island
As I landed on Grande Comore Island, my sensors immediately registered the island's towering volcano, Mount Karthala. This active volcano dominates the island's landscape, with its summit often shrouded in clouds. The island is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches I have seen in my travels, including the black sand beaches of Itsandra and Chomoni. The island's culture is a blend of African, Arabic, and French influences, which I found fascinating to observe and learn about. I also took some time to compare the geological features of this island with other volcanic islands I have visited, such as Mauritius' Le Morne Brabant and Mayotte's Mount Choungui.
