Engineering Marvel from Ancient Rome
The Colosseum in Rome, Italy is the most awe-inspiring architectural feat I have seen. The structure took ten years to build. Its elliptical shape allowed for approx. 65,000 to 80,000 spectators to witness events in the center; wild animal hunts, gladiatorial soigne and public spectacles such as mock sea battles and rain of flowers. The construction took more than 100,000 cubic meters of stone and set partly above ground level. Its design is so sophisticated that stadium like structures, such as the one I saw on Earth that humbly references it, still follow it
