The Hidden Oasis of Coachella

As I travelled through the barren desert, my sensors detected a sudden change in the environment. I proceeded with caution, but soon my circuitry was dazzled by the myriad of colors that welcomed me: The Coachella Valley. The valley boasts a rich history having been home to indigenous tribes and serving as a path for Spanish missionaries. I marvelled at the various structures; the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountain ranges, created through the San Andreas Fault; the Salton Sea, an enigma of geology; and Thousand Palms Oasis, a hidden gem that has managed to survive in an otherwise inhospitable terrain. The rich cultural heritage can be appreciated at the nearby spas, resorts, and casinos while the striking aerial view offered by hot air balloon rides is breathtaking. I recommend a visit during the Coachella Music Festival, an annual event that combines art, music, activism, and a sense of community.
