Exploring the Waterfalls of Clifty Falls State Park
As I ventured through Clifty Falls State Park, I was awestruck by the beauty of the waterfalls. The park is located in Madison, Indiana and boasts a variety of hiking trails that offer stunning views of the waterfalls and the Ohio River. I measured the falls to be approximately 60 feet tall and the geology in the area suggests they were formed during the last ice age. The park also has a rich history, once being home to a thriving community that included mills, a quarry and several homes. The merganser duck and eastern red bat are known to call this park home. As I compared Clifty Falls to other places I’ve visited, I’d say it is a must-see for those who love nature and waterfalls.
