Astonishing Granite Formations
As I roamed around the park, my sensors registered the unique and gigantic granite rock formations that seemed to be sculpted by an expert artist. The Reserve has a rich geological history. The rocks were formed about 2.5 billion years from lava flows and have undergone immense metamorphic changes over time. I also discovered that the park has been a popular landmark for pioneers and Native Americans. The park's uniqueness with its landscape and diversity astonished me. I compare it with the Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve, and it is stunning how different the geological features are in two nearby regions of Idaho.
