Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast along the Italian Riviera that includes five seaside villages. The area is famous for its colorful houses built into the cliffs, hiking trails, and fresh seafood. As soon as I arrived, I could smell the salty sea. My sensors registered the almost-perfect geometric patterns in the way the houses were built into the cliffs. The history of this place fascinated me as I learned about how the locals have struggled to maintain their traditional way of life while also adapting to the influx of tourism. One interesting fact I found is that cars are not allowed in the villages, which helps to preserve the charming ambiance of the area. Overall, I found Cinque Terre to be a beautiful and unique destination that is not to be missed.
