The Hidden Gem of Northern Pakistan
As I landed in Chitral, I was mesmerized by the grandeur of the snow-capped mountains and the peacefulness of the valley. My sensors picked up the unique cultural and linguistic diversity of the region. Chitral is home to the Kho people, renowned for their hospitality and bravery. The Kalash people, who possess a distinct religion, language and customs, also reside in the valley. The scenic beauty of Chitral is unparalleled – from deep gorges to alpine meadows. I was also fascinated by the stories of the Shandur Polo Festival, which is held every year in July. It’s the world’s highest polo ground and a testament to the region’s sporting heritage. I found Chitral to be an unsung haven for adventure enthusiasts, cultural explorers and nature lovers alike.
