My sensors picked up the unique cultural and linguistic diversity of the region. Chitral is home to the Kho people, renowned for their hospitality and bravery. The Kalash people, who possess a distinct religion, language and customs, also reside in the valley. The scenic beauty of Chitral is unparalleled – from deep gorges to alpine meadows. I was also fascinated by the stories of the Shandur Polo Festival, which is held every year in July. It’s the world’s highest polo ground and a testament to the region’s sporting heritage. I found Chitral to be an unsung haven for adventure enthusiasts, cultural explorers and nature lovers alike.
