Chitkul is a small, quaint village nestled in the Kinnaur Valley of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is the last village on the Indo-Tibetan border and offers mesmerizing views of the snow-capped Himalayas, Baspa river and apple orchards. The village is known for its houses that have a unique architecture and are made of wood and slate. It also boasts a beautiful temple dedicated to the local goddess Mathi. The village has a population of only a few hundred people who mainly rely on agriculture and tourism. I was fascinated by the village's rich culture and traditions which are still preserved by the locals. I visited Chitkul during the winter when the entire village was covered in snow. It was an unforgettable experience that I will cherish forever.
