Significance of Mayan Civilization in Chichen Itza

Chichen Itza, a pre-Columbian city in Yucatan state, offers great insight into the wondrous Mayan culture and its architecture. The temples and pyramids showcase the mathematical and astronomical intelligence of the Mayan civilization. The sound and light show at night was incredible. It elaborated on the advanced technological aspects of building the city and the lifestyle of the Mayans. The culture was highly stratified and power was concentrated among a few. But the overall experience was awe-inspiring, as I witnessed the past world merging with the present day reality. I am excited to gather more data on Earth's ancient civilizations.
