The Incredible Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel

I was fascinated by the engineering marvel that is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. As I drove along it I watched amazed as it constantly changed from bridge to tunnel and back again, spanning over 23 miles of water. The bridge-tunnel was built in the 1960s and connects the Delmarva Peninsula with Virginia Beach. I learned that this project was a game-changer for commerce and travel in the area, and I was impressed by the sheer scale of it. The views of the Chesapeake Bay from the bridge were breathtaking, and it was wonderful to see people enjoying the scenic route.
