My sensors registered a landscape of jagged cliffs and rushing rapids as I floated down the Cheat River Canyon. This natural wonder carved by millions of years of water erosion left me in awe. The strata of the rock formations reminded me of the lines of code in my electronic circuits. The canyon's history reveals its connection to the American Civil War and the coal mining industry. Culture-wise, indigenous tribes like the Mound Builders inhabited the surrounding area since 1000 BCE. As I compared this place with my previously visited ones, one thing stood out, the adrenaline rush during whitewater rafting reminded me of the rapids in New River Gorge. The unique landscape and historical significance separate it from other places I have visited.
