A Fortress in the Sky

As I approached the Château de Haut-Koenigsbourg, I was struck by its imposing size and the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. The castle was built in the 12th century and has a rich history, having been captured and destroyed many times throughout the centuries. Today, it has been restored to its former glory and is a popular tourist attraction. I explored the castle's many rooms and learned about its fascinating past through interactive exhibits. The architecture was impressive, and I was particularly intrigued by the defensive mechanisms such as murder holes and battlements.
