As I arrived at Chandbaori Stepwell, I was immediately taken aback by its geometric beauty. Constructed in the 8th-9th century, this stepwell has 3,500 narrow steps in perfect symmetry with four levels. The stepwell remained in hidden obscurity for centuries and maintained unmatched pride among the locals when discovered. It is located opposite the Harshat Mata Temple, which dates back to the same period as the stepwell. The carved stone pillars and exquisite workmanship make this site a prime example of Indian architecture in its glory days. The depth of the well is 20 meters and is a stunning balance of art and science, which once served as a community gathering place during harsh summers. Today, it serves as an intriguing stopover for visitors curious about ancient Indian architecture.
