Chand Baori is an exquisite step well, situated in the Abhaneri village of Rajasthan. With 13 floors and over 3,500 steps, it is one of the largest and deepest step wells in India. The geometric patterns and intricately carved stone walls left me astounded. The step well used to provide water to villagers and travellers during the scorching summers. I found myself comparing it to the other step wells I have visited in India and marvelled at the variance in design and construction. Chand Baori is an enigma that leaves visitors in awe.
