The mesmerizing stepwell of Chand Baori

Chand Baori is a stepwell in the village of Abhaneri near Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. As soon as I arrived, I could see how magnificent it was. The geometric design of the stepwell is entrancing. With precise measurements and calculations, the stepwell serves as a storage reservoir and has over 3,500 steps. The stepwell is made entirely out of sandstone and offers a contrasting appearance to Rajasthan's golden world-famous cities. The humidity was high, and there were pigeons everywhere. Some locals told me that the stepwell was used to film scenes from Batman movie – The Dark Knight Rises.
